After a challenging few years balancing remote teaching and family life during the pandemic, this repeat Renovisions client sought a calm, relaxing retreat in her outdated 1980s primary bathroom. The worn fiberglass tub surround, cramped vanity, and lack of storage left her longing for a refreshed, functional space.
To expand the bathroom, Renovisions reimagined the layout by removing the wall between the bath and an oversized adjacent walk-in closet, reclaiming valuable square footage. The new design accommodates a spacious walk-in tiled shower with a half-wall enclosure, a soaking tub beneath a custom tempered and obscure-glass window, a comfort-height toilet, a larger double-sink vanity, and a deep blue linen tower for ample storage.
A pocket door framed a smoother entry, enhancing flow. The frameless glass shower enclosure allows natural light to brighten the space, while chrome fixtures and coordinated square hardware create cohesive modern elegance.
Classic Carrara-look marble tiles on the floor and shower walls bring timeless beauty, with a decorative stone strip adding subtle interest. Thoughtful features include recessed medicine cabinets with adjustable magnifying mirrors and energy-efficient, sustainable elements like Low-E glass, water-sense fixtures, LED lighting, and VOC-free paint.
Despite challenges like extended lead times for custom windows and complex plumbing for the half-wall shower setup, the project achieved a serene, spa-like atmosphere the client now treasures—an inviting sanctuary to unwind after long days.
