The goal for this 1980 kitchen renovation was to achieve a space that combines high functionality with refined aesthetics. The homeowners were ready to upgrade their builder grade cabinets, create a larger and more functional island, replace dark flooring and non-functioning windows in the kitchen and dining areas. Additionally, they wanted to convert a desk area from a cluttered mess to a sleek, tech savvy coffee and beverage area.
To coordinate with updates throughout the residence, Renovisions selected transitional finishes, incorporating off-white and sage green paint complemented by elegant porcelain countertops and a full-height matching backsplash.
The redesigned kitchen features a custom curved painted wood chimney hood with brass straps and coordinating trivets, harmonizing with soft gold hardware and fixtures. A substantial 9-foot island offers generous deep and wide drawer storage along with a thoughtfully designed recycling station, supporting both the client’s daily needs and their capacity for entertaining guests.
The new beverage area incorporates a brass hammered style bar sink, faucet and hot water dispenser with a point of use filter, a beverage refrigerator, plenty of storage with drawers, doors with pull-out trays, wall cabinetry with glass doors and LED lighting and under the cabinet lighting, floating shelves and gorgeous crown molding. The stunning porcelain backsplash provides a sophisticated overall feel to the space.
The clients are overjoyed by the extraordinary results—and they’re not the only ones. Friends and family have been stunned by the transformation, often pausing in admiration before offering the same reaction: this project is remarkable.
