These clients approached Ed and Cathy from Renovisions after being referred by friends who have recently completed a kitchen Renovision and were thrilled with the results. The clients recently sold their townhouse and seized the opportunity to remodel an ocean front property that had been in the family for several years and never been renovated.
Their main goal was to create an open, spacious kitchen with more countertop space for prepping and serving guests who often gather here. Top of mind was to re-design the kitchen to make it feel more open to the beautiful surroundings as the Atlantic Ocean was just steps away. The next priority was to choose durable low/no maintenance products as they did not want to be a slave to their kitchen chores in their retirement years.
After collaborating with our architect associate, we determined that the first order of business was to remove two existing walls that blocked the gorgeous ocean view and install supportive structures to ensure proper reinforcement. The columns were built and finished in the same warm wood stain as the cabinetry to create a more cohesive look and also tied in nicely with the client’s furnishings. The new kitchen design provided ample storage including deep drawers for pots and pans and a pull-out recycling/trash cabinet. Working with higher ceilings allowed us to run the crown moldings right to the ceiling boasting a lofty palatial feel. What was once a small, poorly-lit no-eat-in kitchen has transformed into a spacious, bright and airy open concept kitchen with plenty of countertop area to serve and entertain guests. Our clients will be able to prep meals while enjoying the beautiful sweeping ocean views.
Soft hues from the quartz countertops and pretty glass backsplash tiles provided a calming elegance to the overall feel of this space. The end result, the clients are thrilled and already planning events to show-off their newly transformed Renovision.
“Dear Cathy & Ed, You have been so wonderful to work with. I have enjoyed your creativity!”
